Job summary

General Technologies, Inc. in Texas is seeking a machine operator to load/unload parts, inspect items and prepare materials for production. You will operate assigned machinery during the shift, ensure products meet quality standards, package items, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Training is provided for applicants with production experience, and overtime/weekend hours may be required. Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required; bilingual English/Spanish is

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned machinery throughout shift.
  • Maintain product creation within designated cycle time.
  • Report discrepancies or seek assistance from leads/supervisors.
  • Package finished product according to instructions and ensure quality.
  • Separate good/bad products as needed and assemble boxes as required.
  • Follow health and safety regulations and maintain a clean work area.
  • Assist with breaks for other operators and train new staff when needed.

Job description

As a machine operator you are responsible for loading and unloading parts and material to and from our machines, inspecting parts, packing, labeling, house keeping and more in this position.

Responsibilities (Include But Are Not Limited To)
  • Operate assigned machinery throughout shift
  • Maintain product creation within designated cycle time at all times
  • Communicate with leads and/or supervisors of any discrepancies or assistance needed
  • Package finished product according to instruction; assure finished product meets quality and specifications
  • Correct/separate good/bad products consistently
  • Assemble finished product, if needed
  • Promote and exercise safety by using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all safety policies and procedures while in the plant
  • Maintain cleanliness of area around assigned machine by picking up trash, sweeping, vacuuming, etc.
  • Assemble boxes to be used during shift and/or next shift
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Assist cell leads in relieving operators for breaks
  • Occasionally train new operators on assigned machines, as needed
Requirements
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus
  • Experience in working in production setting a plus, but not required (training provided)
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for the entire shift
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have your own reliable transportation
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be flexible and able to work extended shifts and/or weekends
Schedule
  • Monday - Friday, 10:45pm-7:15am (May have to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed)
Compensation
  • $15.50/hour

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
