MACHINE OPERATOR I- 3rd Shift

General labor support of plant operations & housekeeping requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Placing raw materials or products into manufacturing machines to aid the assembly process, packaging finished products and organizing them for shipments and completing checks on equipment and products to ensure quality production.
  • Hand stacking & palletizing of finished goods in preparation for customer shipment.
  • Maintaining case sealer (top and bottom tape dispensers).
  • Monitoring and correcting case palletizer as needed.
  • Loss control of product and packaging.
  • General maintenance tasks in preventative care of equipment such as grease & lubrication application.
  • Performs housekeeping tasks, meeting the organizational requirements to ensure workspace efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conforms to and promotes Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (S&GMP's) in the operation throughout the facility and participates in the Company Safety Programs.
  • Able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events and react well under pressure.
  • Follows policies and procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Observes safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Possesses the Skills and Knowledge, and able to meet the Physical Demands and perform in the work environment described in the Work Environment section below.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervision.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to Managers and Supervisors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
