Job summary

Colgate-Palmolive in Cambridge, OH seeks an Operating Technician Level 1 to support packaging lines and material handling. This role emphasizes safety, quality and continuous improvement within a collaborative team.

The technician will conduct setup, changeovers, inspections and data entry in SAP and OPERA, while maintaining housekeeping and adhering to cGMP standards. A minimum of 2 years experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Vocational school or technical institute preferred).
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
• Minimum of 2 years work experience and/or 2-year technical college degree
• Ability to adhere to all safety standards and wear and utilize all personal protective equipment
• Ability to perform regular housekeeping and maintain general cleanliness in work area
• Ability to move bags of raw materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate, clean, lubricate, inspect, troubleshoot and changeover non-automated and automated packaging equipment.
• Assist maintenance and operating team members in troubleshooting and performing minor repairs on production equipment.
• Confirms availability of packing materials and coordinates with planning/logistics to ensure materials.
• Adhere to Colgate quality, cGMP and Micro standards; perform daily production records and quality checks.
• Operate forklift for unloading materials and delivering to storage locations or lines.
• Use SAP for BOM, OPERA for quality entries, and access WMS for loading to delivery vehicle.
• Participate in scheduled reviews and apply root cause analysis for continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate leadership and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
