Job Title: Production Line Machine Operator/Technician
Job Summary:
The Operator/Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring, maintaining, and performing minor repairs on automated machinery within the filling production line. This includes rotary and inline fillers, bottle separators/unscramblers, cappers, and labelers. The role ensures machinery runs efficiently, with proper adjustments, routine maintenance, and minimal downtime to maintain high production output, quality, and uptime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation:
- Operate and monitor equipment such as rotary fillers, bottle unscramblers, cappers, labelers, and pumps to ensure efficient production and high-quality output.
- Adjust machine settings to meet production specifications, including speed, fill levels, and labeling accuracy.
- Ensure product specifications, such as fill weight, cap placement, and labeling, are consistently met.
- Mechanical Adjustments & Repairs:
- Perform minor mechanical repairs and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Adjust controls for optimal machine performance based on product and operational needs.
- Inspect machines regularly for wear and address minor mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintenance:
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and checking system components.
- Monitor machine performance and report issues to supervisors.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Ensure machinery complies with safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
- Quality Control:
- Periodically inspect products to ensure quality and address irregularities.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and machine performance.
- Collaboration:
- Coordinate with team members to meet production goals.
- Communicate machine status and issues with supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical certifications and/or vocational training.
- Forklift certification.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience in machine operation within manufacturing or production environments.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with production line equipment such as fillers, labelers, and capping machines.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility for extended hours and overtime, including weekends.
