Job summary

Westrock Coffee Company is seeking a Packaging Supervisor to ensure packaging lines run efficiently and to coordinate the movement of product between manufacturing and warehousing.

You will release work orders, assign labor based on schedule and operator capabilities, and serve as a trained trainer during shifts, with duties including handling operator inquiries and stepping in for vacation coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Work experience in food/beverage industry is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Windows Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, TOPS, JD Edwards, and Spec Management Systems.
• Ability to work with multiple departments and supervisors.
• Willingness to work weekends and extended hours as needed.
• Ability to operate and train on packaging equipment.
• Ability to resolve minor mechanical issues on packaging lines.
• Willingness to fill in as packaging operator and support other shifts or sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Packaging Operators and packaging lines operate efficiently.
• Coordinate movement of product between manufacturing and warehousing with Expediters and staff.
• Coordinate release of work orders to packing lines based on schedule.
• Assign labor based on schedule and operator capabilities.
• Serve as a Qualified Trainer as needed.
• Lead shift transitions for smooth personnel changes.
• Field most packaging operator questions; involve supervisor for complex issues.
• Perform administrative shift/production tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
• Triage maintenance calls from packaging lines.
• Fill in as Supervisor for vacation coverage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Duties:

• Ensure that Packaging Operators and packaging lines are operating efficiently and effectively.
• Work with Material Expediters and warehouse staff to coordinate the movement of product between the manufacturing and warehousing areas.
• Coordinate the release of work orders to packing lines based on packaging schedule
• Assign labor to packing line based on schedule and employee capabilities
• Serve as a "Qualified Trainer" as needed.
• Take active role in shift transition period to ensure smooth and efficient change of personnel.
• Field most of packaging operator questions/issues regarding production. Involve supervisor in issues that are more complicated.
• Perform administrative shift/production tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
• Triage Maintenance calls from packaging lines
• Fill in as Supervisor for vacation coverage
• Perform other duties as assigned.
