Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure, a CRH company, is seeking a Production Lead to guide a manufacturing production team in a safety-first environment. This union role focuses on people safety, quality, and production in a specific area, with accountability across operations.

Responsibilities include coaching, staffing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to improve quality, reduce costs, and maintain productivity within budgeted targets.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of lead/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate under pressure and meet deadlines while multitasking.
• Ability to lead by example and build effective teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a factory environment and perform manual labor.
• Effective communication with people at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read and perform mathematical calculations and measurements with numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Follows, and ensures others follow, all policies, standards, and safety requirements defined by the company.
• Drives safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively eliminate hazards.
• Participates in hiring, schedules, and supervises full time staff and additional temporary staff.
• Provides coaching and corrective feedback timely as well as initiating disciplinary processes up to and including termination as necessary.
• Participates in timely quarterly and annual reviews for all team members.
• Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution.
• Oversees all process documentation and training program procedures for consistency of operational tasks, and the safety and cleanliness of the workplace.
• Works directly with Quality Control, Engineering, and Maintenance, to improve quality, streamline efficiencies and reduce operating expenses.
• Tracks productivity for measured efficiency and improvement and operates at or below the budgeted cost for production utilizing lean manufacturing procedures and cross training.
• Oversees adherence to inventory control procedures to ensure inventory accuracy goals are constantly achieved.
• Assist with troubleshooting and solving production issues.
• Performs other duties as requested by management.
