Job summary

Cavaghan & Gray, a member of the 2 Sisters Food Group, is seeking an experienced production supervisor/manager to join the Carlisle-based operation. You will oversee day-to-day line activity, drive performance, and ensure manufacturing costs are controlled in line with standards.

This role requires hands-on leadership on the production floor, with strong collaboration across H&S, technical, hygiene, engineering and HR/L&D to keep operations safe, efficient and waste-free.

Qualifications

• IOSH Managing Safely certification (training provided).
• CIEH Level 3 Food Safety for food management (training provided).
• 12 months experience in people management desirable.
• 12 months experience in working in a production environment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day issues on the line/area to ensure optimal performance.
• Interpret results and take action to improve performance.
• Control the cost of manufacture by operating to the agreed standards of labour utilisation, material utilisation, machine performance and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Member of middle management within the Production/Operations function, managing a production line or area in accordance with the line schedule and allocated employees.
• Coordinate with site functions (incl. H&S, Technical, Hygiene, Engineering, HR/L&D and other support services) to ensure Production is run safely, efficiently and effectively and to minimise downtime / waste.
