Job summary

Marmon Holdings, the parent of Marmon, is seeking a second‑shift Production Lead to direct and support production teams, ensure safety, and uphold quality standards. This role emphasizes hands‑on leadership, coaching, and reliable execution in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates will have prior manufacturing leadership experience, a solid understanding of production processes, and the ability to communicate with all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and support to second‑shift production employees.
  • Assign tasks and monitor workflow to help meet production goals.

  • Provide basic coaching, guidance, and on‑the‑job support.
  • Address employee concerns and elevate issues to management as appropriate.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, and adherence to company policies.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment as needed.
  • Fill in for absent employees and support bottleneck operations.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust priorities as directed.

Leadership & Support
  • Provide direction and support to second‑shift production employees.
  • Assign tasks and monitor workflow to help meet production goals.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and productive work environment.
  • Provide basic coaching, guidance, and on‑the‑job support.
  • Address employee concerns and elevate issues to management as appropriate.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, and adherence to company policies.

Production Operations
  • Operate manufacturing equipment as needed.
  • Fill in for absent employees and support bottleneck operations.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust priorities as directed.
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment or process issues.
  • Maintain production records and communicate shift updates.
Safety & Quality Support
  • Support enforcement of safety rules and company procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety observations and report unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Document production, quality, or safety concerns.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Communication
  • Serve as a point of contact for second‑shift operational issues.
  • Communicate production performance, staffing concerns, and equipment issues to management.
  • Participate in meetings and provide shift updates as requested.
Education and Experience:
  • Prior manufacturing experience required.
  • Previous leadership or lead experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and safety practices.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to operate production equipment.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead by example in a hands‑on environment.
  • Ability to read and write clearly.
  • Ability to read job specifications.
  • Ability to organize work efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic, statistics, and other specific mathematical applications.
  • Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including the designs, uses, and basic maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of principals and processes for providing customers with specific requirements and specifications.
  • Must be able to multi‑task, follow priorities given, and have strong troubleshooting techniques.
  • Self‑starter; ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong housekeeping practices and organizational skills desired.
Working Conditions:
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
  • Ability to work long hours while standing and operating machinery.
  • Ability to move objects and materials of at least 50lbs.
