The Cast House Helper supports safe and efficient operations in the cast house by handling aluminum products after extrusion, tending production lines, racking and packing materials, and moving bins with a forklift. This role works closely with the cast house team and follows established safety procedures while performing physically demanding tasks in a hot, high-noise industrial environment.

SHIFT: 6PM -6AM

Will train on morning shift for 2-3 weeks from 6am to 6pm.

Responsibilities
  • Handle aluminum products safely after extrusion, ensuring proper placement, organization, and flow through the production process.
  • Tend production lines by monitoring material flow, adjusting as needed, and supporting operators to maintain consistent output and quality.
  • Rack and pack aluminum products according to established procedures and specifications, preparing materials for storage or shipment.
  • Operate or assist with operating production and material-handling equipment as directed, including forklifts for moving bins and materials.
  • Use a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and ensure products meet required specifications.
  • Perform general labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, stacking, and organizing materials in the cast house and plant areas.
  • Use basic hand tools safely and correctly to support production, packing, and equipment-related tasks.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment in hot and noisy plant conditions.
  • Support crane and saw operations as training progresses, learning additional duties to grow into higher-level operator roles.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area by removing debris, organizing materials, and supporting housekeeping standards in the cast house.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members about production needs, safety concerns, and equipment issues.
  • Work overtime as needed, including additional shifts, to support 24/7 plant coverage and production demands.
  • Demonstrate consistent attendance, punctuality, and strong work ethic to support continuous operations in the cast house.

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment consistently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in similar industrial environments such as large-scale manufacturing plants is beneficial.
  • Prior exposure to crane, saw, or heavy equipment operation is a plus, though training is available for motivated workers.
  • Willingness to cross-train into higher-level operator roles as skills and experience grow.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including permanent night shift, and accept frequent overtime opportunities.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced production environment.
Why Work Here?

You will join a growing operation that offers a stable, long-standing business with a close-knit, family feel and a strong focus on safety. The facility continues to expand toward 24/7 coverage, creating opportunities to advance into higher-level operator roles as you learn and develop new skills. The company recognizes dedication through frequent overtime opportunities, tenure bonuses at multiple service milestones, and regular team events such as quarterly barbecues and picnics. With hundreds of employees across multiple locations and more than four decades in business, you benefit from both the stability of an established organization and the growth potential of an expanding plant.

Work Environment

This role is based in a plant and cast house environment that combines indoor work areas with unregulated production spaces. The cast house is very hot due to the furnaces used to melt and mold metal, and in the summer temperatures can reach around 110 degrees. The area is loud, with high noise levels and other industrial factors typical of a heavy manufacturing facility. The position follows a 12-hour shift schedule, with permanent night shift hours from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM after an initial training period of approximately 23 weeks on day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Overtime is frequently available, including the option to pick up additional days to support around-the-clock coverage. Dress code requires steel-toe boots and long pants, and employees must wear a hard hat, safety glasses, and ear plugs while in the plant. The work is physically demanding, involves heavy labor, and takes place in a safety-focused, production-driven environment using industrial machinery, hand tools, and material-handling equipment.
