Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, seeks a Foreman to supervise and develop trades teams across multiple shifts in Newport News, VA. The role includes ensuring adherence to drawings and procedures, coordinating installations, testing, and process operations with a focus on cost and quality outcomes.

Eligible applicants include those with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, apprenticeships, or substantial manufacturing/military experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
Apprentice certification or qualified experience.
4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades or military experience.
Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge.
Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed.
Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity and assists in development of training procedures.
Ensures compliance with drawings, procedures and other technical aspects of the job.
Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing and process operations with significant financial impact on company performance.
Supervises qualified trades staff; monitors job and budget performance for all shifts.
