Job summary

Kelly is seeking a Production Floater in Northampton, MA to support the manufacturing line from start to finish. You will help produce various rod types according to the production schedule, balance multiple steps, and ensure quality while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and forklift experience. Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with pay at USD 20.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• GED/High School Diploma preferred.
• MA driver’s license required.
• Manufacturing experience a plus.
• Team player.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to stand, reach, bend, push, etc.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work safely
• Oversee and manage production of product from raw materials through to final quality control
• Produce a variety of rod types based on the production schedule set by the production coordinator
• Balance mixing, extrusion, drying, cutting, and firing steps efficiently to maximize production and meet order requirements
• Track and manage key materials and consumables for uninterrupted, quality production
• Work with process engineering and management to troubleshoot quality or production issues
• Complete department production and quality data
• Responsible for start-up, shut-down, and cleanouts of all production equipment in assigned area
• Make adjustments to processing parameters to achieve desired final specifications
• Store raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods in proper locations
• Operate forklift to move pallets of raw materials, totes filled with powder, etc.
• Operate equipment at elevated heights occasionally (ladders/platforms)
• Pack finished goods for shipment as needed
• Load and unload trucks as needed
• Maintain work areas and equipment
