Job description

About Us

At Intramotev, we are dedicated to revolutionizing the freight industry by liberating tons of freight from congested highways, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing transportation efficiency. We are deploying self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles to transform freight logistics and bring innovation to our rail network.

Based in St. Louis, MO, we are committed to promoting industrial revitalization, saving lives, and minimizing the environmental impact of trucking and transportation. We actively foster a work environment for every teammate that's welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunities for professional growth. Find your future with us.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Production Engineering Manager to join our leadership team and lead production of our self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles. This role owns the factory, the production operations team, the build schedule, and the processes that get vehicles built safely, on schedule, and within budget. Our production is low-volume and high-mix: new vehicles, retrofits, and modifications, across mechanical and electrical assembly, integration, and test. The successful candidate designs the factory to scale with customer demand, builds and develops the team that runs it, and holds the floor to clear standards for safety, quality, efficiency, delivery, and cost.

Odoo is central to this job. Production planning, manufacturing orders, work orders, routings, BOMs, inventory, and supply chain coordination all run through Odoo MRP, and this role plans and controls the build there every day.

This is a full-time, 100% in-office role based in St. Louis, MO. You'll lead the production operations team of technicians and production staff and work daily with engineering, quality and test, and the supply chain team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Factory Design & Layout: Plan and implement the layout of equipment, operations, and material flow so the factory scales with customer demand, applying lean and operational-design methods to flow.

  • Team Building & Leadership: Build and lead the production operations team. Hire, train, and develop technicians and production staff; make sure the staffing, skills, and tooling are in place to hit production targets; and manage team performance.

  • Production Planning & Scheduling: Plan, schedule, and control production in Odoo MRP (manufacturing orders, work orders, routings, BOMs) to meet delivery requirements. Schedule constrained resources and adjust staffing and capacity to match.

  • Supply Chain Partnership: Work hand-in-hand with the supply chain team on material requirements, make/buy decisions, inventory accuracy, and material availability so builds are not starved for parts. Purchasing and vendor management stay with the supply chain team.

  • Daily Operations: Run mechanical and electrical assembly, integration, and test for new builds, retrofits, and modifications. Track work in process, material status, and emerging production problems so people, equipment, and materials are where they need to be.

  • Safety & Standard Work: Own shop-floor safety; eliminate unsafe operations and keep the floor safe and clean. Define production processes and standard work, train to them, and enforce them. Lead first-time builds, from workspace setup and process flow to personnel responsibilities.

  • Metrics & Equipment: Define and manage production metrics for safety, quality, efficiency, delivery, and cost. Keep equipment and machinery maintained and calibrated on preventive-maintenance schedules.

  • Quality, Test & Audits: With engineering and quality, define and lead safety certifications, quality assurance, and factory acceptance testing. Serve as the manufacturing subject‑matter expert in customer and regulatory audits.

  • Demonstrated management experience leading production teams or operations, including hiring, developing, and managing people and owning schedule and output.

  • Hands‑on experience running mechanical and/or electrical assembly, integration, and test operations.

  • Experience planning and scheduling production in an MRP/ERP system and working closely with supply chain or purchasing on material availability.

  • Track record of defining standard work, production metrics, and safety practices on a shop floor.

  • Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches.

  • Open‑minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment and as a leader.

  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.

  • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided).
