Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovation is seeking a Production Engineering Co‑op to join the Danvers, MA team from January 11, 2027 to June 25, 2027. You will support manufacturing process design, validation, and continuous improvement with Lean Six Sigma methods, collaborating with Operations, Product Development, and Quality Assurance.

The role emphasizes documentation, process optimization, and cross‑functional teamwork to enhance product quality and yield, while aligning with GMP and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an engineering degree (junior, senior, or graduate).
• Prior work experience is desired; medical device experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methods; Green Belt certification is preferred.
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to prioritize work with limited supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP knowledge is desired.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, improvement, and validation of manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures.
• Contribute to daily production needs, defect reduction, productivity improvements, and product quality.
• Work with global, cross‑functional Operations, Product Development, and Quality Assurance teams.
• Use Lean and Six Sigma tools to analyze process trends and drive improvements.
• Assist with documentation such as procedures, routers, BOMs, and FMEAs.
• Support process validations and qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Qualify and optimize processes and tooling through data-driven studies and DOE.
• Participate in investigations and corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain documentation and stay current on developments related to Abiomed products.
• Collaborate with product development to ensure manufacturability.
