Job summary

Synthomer plc is seeking a Production Engineer for our Jefferson Hills, PA site to support day-to-day manufacturing operations. You will monitor data, troubleshoot issues, and drive improvements across processes and equipment, collaborating with operations and maintenance teams.

You will lead incident investigations, participate in capital projects, and contribute to Process Hazard Analyses, ensuring safe and reliable plant performance in a continuous chemical processing environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering.
• 2-5 years of chemical engineering/relevant experience.
• Manufacturing environment with large, continuous chemical processing equipment.
• Ability to interface with operations and maintenance personnel and lead cross-functional teams.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to analyze process data and determine root causes of failures.
• Experience with systems such as DCS, PI Vision, statistical analysis tools; Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to manufacturing units to ensure safe, stable, and reliable operations.
• Monitor operating data and perform analyses to meet operating plans.
• Identify and implement improvements to debottleneck and increase reliability and capacity.
• Develop and review procedures and provide operator training as needed.
• Lead incident investigations into process and equipment failures.
• Serve as the Division Representative on capital projects to improve productivity and capacity.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses and coordinate timely resolution plans.
• Interface with HSES, Product Development, Maintenance, Process Improvement and other teams to prioritize projects.
