Synthomer in Ohio is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to provide technical guidance for daily plant production and lead improvements. You will report to the Technical and Quality Manager and collaborate with operators, supervisors, and the production team to boost safety, quality, and efficiency.

The role requires a BS in Chemical Engineering, 3–5 years in chemical process manufacturing, and strong problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in chemical process manufacturing.
• Advanced problem solving and facilitation skills.
• Proven ability to initiate and drive change.
• Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Provides technical guidance of daily plant production processes.
• Serves as a technical expert on the production team.
• Actively engages with operators and supervisors to ensure safe, efficient production activities.
• Identifies production related safety, quality, and process improvement opportunities, prioritizing and implementing long term corrective actions.
• Drives continuous improvement and change to deliver production results.
• Supports and participates in plant safety activities and training.
• Provides troubleshooting support for production related issues and alarms.
• Participates in the Management of Change (MOC) program and related activities.
• Develops and maintains production related procedures, training materials, and documentation.
• Acts as the technical expert for all production related activities.
• Owns and manages production related improvement and capital projects, delivering on time and budget.
