Job summary

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, Inc. is seeking a Production Engineer to ensure vehicle/process integrity through systems development and strong process management in the Unit Weld or Plastics shops. You will collaborate with leaders to address chronic problems and improve quality systems, safety, and costs.

The role emphasizes leading changepoints, KPI tracking, and cross-functional teamwork. Candidates should have an engineering degree or equivalent automotive experience, with SAP/Ariba,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent with 5 years automotive experience considered.
• Working knowledge of SAP and Ariba in procurement.
• Intermediate MS Office (Excel, PPT, Word, Project).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience managing KPIs for manufacturing or process improvement projects.
• Experience leading major equipment or shop-level changepoints with schedule and budget ownership.
• CAD software experience (AutoCAD/Inventor) and ability to read 2D/3D drawings.
• PLC programming experience and ability to make changes.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
• Understanding of Toyota Way principles (TPS, TBP, Hoshin, OJD, JIT).

Responsibilities

• Lead quality initiatives by assessing processes, streamline and optimize material usage while maintaining safety and productivity.
• Provide guidance through change point management for smooth adoption of new practices.
• Coordinate daily operational support across departments for improved efficiency.
• Oversee new equipment, processes, and materials, tracking impact on KPIs.
• Manage equipment upgrades projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Analyze problems with systematic methodologies and communicate root causes and solutions to management.
