TOPY America, Inc. in Frankfort, KY, is seeking a Production Engineer to evaluate current and proposed production processes, assist with new product development, and implement design or process changes to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

Under routine supervision of the Production Engineering Manager, you will oversee process plans, tool design, supplier coordination, and budget while coaching the PE team and ensuring production readiness for new programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with PFMEA.
• Experience in automotive components manufacturing.
• Ability to read component, assembly and equipment drawings and understand GD&T.
• Ability to program production machines and equipment.

Responsabilités

• Create and evaluate process plans and production preparation plans for new manufacturing processes.
• Assist with development of new product designs and/or production process that meet safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Create and evaluate process flow, layout, work combination and equipment specs.
• Supervise supplier selection process for sourcing of tools and equipment.
• Control budget and track budget related activities.
• Develop reports to allow for growth and development of the PE team.
• Coach team members on production processes.
• Collect and organize data for future programs.
• Discuss equipment specifications with plants.
• Participate and guide design, construction and installation of new tools and equipment.
• Address production preparation issues timely for countermeasures.
• Report production preparation status to PE management.
• Modify equipment, tooling, and/or process designs to improve safety/quality/productivity.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose daily production and quality problems and drive systemic improvements.
• Assist with tooling and equipment procurement; evaluate vendors, pricing, quality, delivery schedules, etc.
• Support production groups with problem solving and training; draft/edit technical work instructions.
• Conduct, supervise, and document trial manufacturing procedures and standard development.
