Job summary

Rocket Lab’s Space Systems division in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Production Engineer I to own photolithography process modules and drive yield improvements on III-V and silicon production lines. You’ll collaborate across Operations, Equipment Maintenance, and R&D to tackle defects, optimize safety, and scale manufacturing for next-generation solar cells and related components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
• Experience with Photolithography systems and metrology.
• Breadth of wafer fab (III-V and/or Si) knowledge.
• Statistical methods knowledge with JMP and SQL.
• Photolithography processing modules experience, including lift-off and photochemical interactions.
• Understanding of solar cell device physics and testing methods.
• Metallurgy and material science knowledge.
• Familiarity with SPC, OCAP, 8D RCCA etc.

Responsibilities

• Support sustaining activities to maximize yield and productivity of fab operation across work centers in the litho area
• Collaborate with Operations/Equipment Maintenance/Process Technician/R&D Teams to maximize project success
• Own Photolithography process modules: defect response, write work instructions, oversee operator training
• Plan and perform experiments to improve safety/yield/reliability/throughput and assist R&D for new products
• Scoping and procurement of new equipment and process approaches for new products and manufacturing expansion
