Job summary

Rocket Lab in Albuquerque is seeking a Senior Production Engineer I to develop and maintain processes for building advanced solar panels for space applications and to ensure reliability on orbit. You will support the Panel Engineering Manager and the Production organization, delivering results for leadership, board, and investors.

You will champion manufacturing processes on the shop floor, collaborate with area engineers, and empower operators with proper guidance, training, and tools to excel

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related technical field and equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting a manufacturing line in a technical role.
• Attention to detail with demonstrated ability to write technical instruction documents.

Responsibilities

• Function as the technical champion of manufacturing processes and solve problems on the shop floor.
• Serve as liaison between technical/process and operations/execution on the production floor.
• Train operators on equipment use and provide guidance to ensure successful tasks.
• Understand design, construction, and manufacturing methods of solar cells and related hardware.
• Support automated assembly lines using PLCs and process automation to improve throughput.
• Develop standard work instructions for new automated manufacturing processes.
