Job summary

Olin in Freeport, TX is seeking a Production Engineer - Epoxy to optimize operations and drive improvements across plant performance. You will work with Technical Specialist and plant teams to meet safety, production, cost and reliability goals.

Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years in a chemical manufacturing environment. Experience with Aspen1 or IP21 is preferred; ability to obtain TWIC and a valid US driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Works with Technical Specialist and plant employees to optimize operations to meet business and plant goals (environmental, health & safety, production, cost, productivity, quality, energy, reliability).
• Participates in advanced troubleshooting, coaches others to learn these skills, and ensures findings are documented for future usage
• Networks with other engineers on site and within the business to leverage knowledge on plant operations
• Initiates changes to Plant Operating procedures to ensure they are valid and up to date
• Ensures regulatory and responsible care compliance via operating discipline while meeting the increasing demand
• Works with Plant Process Control roles to ensure process control is optimized in the facility
• Helps coordinate area of responsibility during planned shutdown and maintenance activities
• Helps develop job scopes, plans, and technical execution support during turnarounds, start-ups, and shutdowns

Focus: This role resolves plant issues, drives improvements, and shares knowledge to strengthen the performance of the team. You will work closely with other individuals and teams to establish and achieve annual spending plans, production commitments to the business, and cost goals.

Production Engineer Essential Job Functions:

Production Engineer Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree* in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• 2+ years of related engineering experience within a chemical manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems and work in a team environment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with Aspen1, IP21, or similar technologies are preferred
• Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and must possess a valid US Driver's License
