Job summary

Ramp is hiring Production Engineers who are full software engineers specializing in infrastructure. You write production code, own systems end-to-end, and drive technical outcomes across the organization.

Day to day, you will build and operate critical infrastructure, drive architectural change, and partner with product teams to design scalable solutions. You will lead Ramp's cellular architecture move and enable AI-native engineering across the platform.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering shipping high-quality architectures for critical systems.
• Strong engineering fundamentals — clean, well-tested production-ready code.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems at production scale.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with observability practices (SLOs, error budgets, alerting).
• Track record of leading technical projects end-to-end across teams.
• Comfortable using AI tooling and coding agents in daily work.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate critical infrastructure across Ramp's compute, storage, messaging, and observability.
• Drive architectural change: own the path forward when issues surface.
• Partner with product teams at the design phase to ensure correct implementations.
• Lead scaling with the move to a cellular architecture for international expansion.
• Enable AI-native engineering by shaping AI infrastructure patterns.
• Build developer tooling and self-service infrastructure for teams.
• Participate in on-call rotation and drive root-cause improvements.
• Lead across the company with cross-team architectural reviews.
