Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Enrollment at Northeastern University at time of co-op.
• Proficiency in Excel and Office Suite for data analysis and reporting.
• Basic knowledge of industrial engineering and Lean manufacturing principles.
• Able to work 40 hours per week Jan 2027–Jun 2027.
• Must be within 50 miles of Hingham, MA; housing/relocation not provided.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze production performance including output, efficiency, downtime, quality, and labor utilization.
• Maintain production dashboards, scorecards, and action tracking systems.
• Lead and support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct process observations, time studies, bottleneck analyses, and line-balancing.
• Develop and implement digital tools to automate manual processes and improve visibility.
• Support quality, safety, and ergonomic improvement initiatives via data analysis and audits.
• Develop and standardize SOPs, visual work instructions, and best practices.
• Manage improvement projects from planning through implementation and sustainment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational improvements.
