Job summary

Newly Weds Foods, a producer of food coatings, is hiring for its Watertown, MA plant for second shift production positions. The production worker performs tasks to meet packaging goals by dumping ready-to-package product into the hopper on packaging lines.

Responsibilities include verifying ingredients, batch checks with supervisor, moving heavy drums up to 100 lbs, lifting 25–55 lbs, assisting in pallet stacking and bagging, completing paperwork, inventory counts, and maintaining clean, safe

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma; some college preferred or courses completed.
• Five years hands-on production experience preferred in the related area.
• Proven record for quality, safety, and attendance policies; knowledge of OSHA and QA processes.

Responsibilities

• Verify ingredients being dumped.
• Verify batch with supervisor as needed.
• Dump blended ingredients into hopper per job order.
• Assist in moving heavy drums (over 100 lbs) and stacking at line end.
• Lift 25–55 lbs continuously; assist in bagging and palletizing.
• Complete required paperwork and maintain product integrity.
• Assist in inventory and cycle counts; follow LOTO procedures.

***Position needed for 2nd shift***

Newly Weds Foods makes food coatings for some of the biggest brand names in the country! We are hiring for our manufacturing plant in Watertown which is a Breading and Batter plant some production positions for second shift. The production worker p erforms functions directed towards successfully and efficiently meeting packaging goals for customer orders by dumping ready to package product to the Hopper on packaging lines.

• Verifies ingredients being Dumped
• Verifies batch with Supervisor as needed
• Dumps blended ingredients or products into Hopper as per job order.
• Frequent pushing / pulling of drums weighing over 100 lbs.
• Required to assist in stacking at the end of the line as needed by loading boxes/bags onto a pallet. Requires lifting up to 25 - 55 lbs. continuously.
• Required to assist in bagging of product as needed. Requires pushing/pulling up to 55+ lbs. Maintains packaging standards.
• Completes paperwork as needed.
• Must maintain integrity of product.
• Must assist in inventory and cycle counts
• Keeps area and equipment clean; follows LOTO procedures when cleaning equipment.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma, some college or advanced courses preferred. Requires a minimum of five (5) years hands-on experience in our production area or related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
2. Proven record for quality, safety and attendance policies. Thorough work knowledge of OSHA, company policies and procedures and manufacturing/QA processes.
3. Must successfully pass required testing for supervisory position.
4. Willing to attain DOT physical and CDL-A license if warranted.
5. Professional communication, analytical abilities, organizational skills, interpersonal skills and general knowledge in MS Office, AS400 and Lotus Notes.
