Job summary

Newly Weds Foods in Watertown, MA is hiring for a second shift Production Worker to support our breading and batter plant. You will dump ingredients, verify batches with a supervisor, and keep packaging lines meeting customer orders.

Expect frequent lifting up to 55 lbs, pushing/pulling, and occasional pallet loading. You will maintain packaging standards, document as required, and assist in inventory and cycle counts while following LOTO procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or some college preferred; five years hands-on production experience considered.
• Proven record for quality, safety and attendance policies following OSHA guidelines.
• Must pass required testing for supervisory position and be willing to obtain DOT physical and CDL-A if warranted.

Responsibilities

• Verifies ingredients being dumped and ensures correct batch with supervisor as needed.
• Dumps blended ingredients into Hopper per job order and assists in end-of-line stacking.
• Maintains area and equipment, follows LOTO procedures, and assists with inventory and cycle counts.

***Position needed for 2nd shift***

Newly Weds Foods makes food coatings for some of the biggest brand names in the country! We are hiring for our manufacturing plant in Watertown which is a Breading and Batter plant some production positions for second shift. The production worker p erforms functions directed towards successfully and efficiently meeting packaging goals for customer orders by dumping ready to package product to the Hopper on packaging lines.

• Verifies ingredients being Dumped
• Verifies batch with Supervisor as needed
• Dumps blended ingredients or products into Hopper as per job order.
• Frequent pushing / pulling of drums weighing over 100 lbs.
• Required to assist in stacking at the end of the line as needed by loading boxes/bags onto a pallet. Requires lifting up to 25 - 55 lbs. continuously.
• Required to assist in bagging of product as needed. Requires pushing/pulling up to 55+ lbs. Maintains packaging standards.
• Completes paperwork as needed.
• Must maintain integrity of product.
• Must assist in inventory and cycle counts
• Keeps area and equipment clean; follows LOTO procedures when cleaning equipment.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma, some college or advanced courses preferred. Requires a minimum of five (5) years hands-on experience in our production area or related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
2. Proven record for quality, safety and attendance policies. Thorough work knowledge of OSHA, company policies and procedures and manufacturing/QA processes.
3. Must successfully pass required testing for supervisory position.
4. Willing to attain DOT physical and CDL-A license if warranted.
5. Professional communication, analytical abilities, organizational skills, interpersonal skills and general knowledge in MS Office, AS400 and Lotus Notes.
