Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Columbus, Nebraska seeks a Planning Coordinator to dispatch and expediting orders through the manufacturing process from order to completion.

The role supports scheduling, material handling, maintenance, and fabrication, interfacing with multiple departments, vendors and sites. The ideal candidate will have 1 year in manufacturing, experience with MRP systems (IFS and Oracle Discoverer), strong Excel skills, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year experience in manufacturing or fabrication.
• 1 year experience with MRP systems (IFS, Oracle Discoverer).
• Basic understanding of Production Control Techniques and procedures.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented and able to follow instructions.
• Must read, write and speak English effectively and prioritize safety.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize processing of orders across production stages.
• Dispatch and expedite orders through manufacturing until completion.
• Issue shop packets and reports to designated areas.
• Coordinate machine load reports and communicate reschedules or overloads.
• Coordinate resolution of lost or damaged material.
• Monitor shipping shortages and communicate with supervisors and production control.
• Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Planner.
