Production Director

Department: Creative Team

Exempt or Non-Exempt: Exempt

Reports to: Creative Director

Direct Supervisor of: Production Manager, Production Technical Manager, Production Technician, Contractors, Volunteers

Tier: Program Lead

Work Schedule: Sunday 7 am-2 pm, Monday-Thursday 9-5. Flexible additional hours as needed.

Purpose of this Position

The Creative Team seeks to advance and support that vision by inspiring our congregation and guests to take their next steps in their faith at HP Pres and informing them how to do so.

The Production Director supports the Creative Team and HP Pres's vision by creating environments and experiences that encourage faith steps.

Impact of this Position

• Lead with technical expertise, soft skills, and wisdom to foster relationships and lead effectively.
• Maintain a ministry-minded attitude and servant-leadership in production work.
• Ensure high-quality, distraction-free experiences during services to inspire faith steps.
• Support staff with production needs, planning, and executing events.
• Manage production projects with good processes and documentation.
• Stay updated on production trends and recommend improvements.
• Resolve live production issues swiftly.
• Build and lead a healthy volunteer team.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Creative Director on goals, vision, projects, and budgets.
• Deep knowledge of HP Pres’s technical infrastructure.
• Plan and track projects and long-term needs.
• Oversee live production for worship and events, either personally or through coordination.
• Train and coach team members, staff, contractors, volunteers, and interns.
• Document and enforce production policies and procedures.
• Improve systems and processes of the Production Team.
• Manage and maintain AV and lighting equipment.
• Build a network of contractors for quick issue resolution.
• Coordinate with other teams like Facilities and IT.
• Have expertise in Ross Video, A/V Networking, Dante AV, Ultrix, and other listed technologies.
• Maintain a regular schedule and communicate schedule changes.
• Engage with staff to foster relationships and culture.
• Attend all required meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage scheduling, training, coaching, and empowering team members, volunteers, contractors, and interns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years in live production
• Experience leading diverse teams
• Deep understanding of production technology
