Work Schedule: Sunday 7 am-2 pm, Monday-Thursday 9-5. Flexible additional hours as needed.

Purpose of This Position:
The Creative Team seeks to advance and support that vision by inspiring our congregation and guests to take their next steps in their faith at HP Pres and informing them how to do so. The Production Director seeks to support the Creative Team and Highland Park Presbyterian Church's vision by creating environments and experiences that encourage people to take their next steps in their faith at HP Pres.

- Production is led by an individual who exhibits technical intelligence, along with the soft skills and wisdom needed to lead people well and foster relationships with staff, volunteers, and members of HP Pres. They are a strategic and service-minded leader with a passion for ministry, technical excellence, and team development. They are proactive, relational, detail-oriented, and they thrive in fast-paced environments with complex and nuanced production needs.
- The Production Team, especially the Production Director, goes about their work and interacts with others with a ministry-minded attitude and a posture of servant-leadership.
- Production “just works” at HP Pres, across the campus, and especially on Sunday mornings. Guests have high-quality, polished, distraction-free experiences during their interactions with HP Pres, which help inspire them to take the next steps in their faith.
- Staff at HP Pres are supported in their production needs, planning and executing events and worship services, with a service-oriented spirit of collaboration and care.
- Production projects are managed and documented well, ensuring that production team members are supported in their work through excellent processes.
- Aware of trends in production and can strategically recommend improvements to equipment and processes at HP Pres that further support the church's vision.
- Able to quickly solve problems as they arise in a live production setting.
- A healthy volunteer team is in place to support our Sunday morning worship services and other events.
- Production Team members are led well and as part of a healthy, high-functioning team, exhibiting quality and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works alongside the Creative Director to set goals and priorities, define the vision, manage projects, and manage budgets.
- As a systems engineer, the Production Director possesses deep knowledge of HP Pres’s technical infrastructure and how various systems integrate and function together.
- As project manager, the Production Director plans and tracks projects, events, and long-term needs.
- Oversees all elements of live production for HP campus worship and events, either personally running events or coordinating with the Creative Team and contractors to ensure that the needs of live production events are met with excellence.
- Trains and coaches members of the Creative Team, HP Pres staff, contractors, volunteers, and interns in production areas.
- Ensures that production policies and procedures are well documented and adhered to across our campus, balancing grace and accountability while teaching staff and members how best to be supported by the Production Team.
- Works to implement and improve systems and processes of the Production Team.
- Manages and maintains Audio, Video, Production Networking, and Lighting equipment and resources across the campus.
- Maintains a network of contractors they can deploy to quickly fix production issues.
- Works alongside the rest of the operations team to ensure that production projects are implemented complementary to other groups, such as Facilities and IT.
- Deep understanding of Ross Video, A/V Networking, Dante AV, Ultrix, live sound, CLA consoles, live video production, GrandMA lighting, ProPresenter, Post-production audio and video editing.
- Maintains a regular work schedule and communicates well when the needs of the position require schedule changes.
- Actively engages with the staff at HP Pres to build healthy relationships across departments and grow staff culture.
- Attend all required meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for scheduling, training, coaching, and empowering members of the Creative Team, as well as volunteers, contractors, and interns, to ensure high-quality execution in production areas.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in live production.
- Experience leading teams of people with diverse skill sets.
- Deep understanding of production technology.
Working Conditions:
- Lifting under 30 lbs.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
