Job summary

Plum Market Food Service Detroit Country Day is seeking a Production Cook with at least 1 year of cooking experience. You will prepare, cook, and serve items to meet menu standards in a fast-paced environment, while upholding safety, sanitation, and quality.

This role involves maintaining the hot bar, assisting with catering, and ensuring guest satisfaction. The position offers full-time hours with opportunities for training, growth, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• You have at least 1 year of experience as a cook.
• You think quickly and can adapt to different roles to ensure service and safety standards.
• You understand and practice proper rotation principles and food safety standards.
• You take pride in maintaining clean equipment and an organized, safe kitchen environment.
• You are dependable, self-motivated, and work with your team to ensure Guest satisfaction.
• You can open and close the kitchen, including equipment checks, sanitation, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, courteous, and professional service to Guests.
• Prepare, cook, heat, and serve all components of the daily menu following Plum Market Foodservice standards.
• Maintain the hot bar during lunch service to ensure freshness and proper rotation.
• Perform all food safety and sanitation practices, including daily equipment checks and temperature logs.
• Demonstrate proper knife skills, portion control, and recipe execution.
• Receive deliveries, stock shelves and coolers, and rotate products according to standards.
• Assist with catering orders and delivery as directed by the Manager.
• Support other stations as needed, including Sandwich and Salad.
• Wash dishes and keep kitchen areas, equipment, and floors clean and safe.
