Job summary

IEM in Fremont, CA is seeking a Production Controller to support the Manufacturing team. You will monitor WIP, coordinate production activities, and help ensure on-time delivery while mitigating risks to schedules.

  • Organizational skills, including coordinating tasks, schedules, and resources.
  • Interpersonal skills with stakeholders across departments and growth potential in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor WIP and communicate schedule changes to accommodate delays or recovery plans.
  • Track and report production status.
  • Identify bottlenecks and help implement solutions to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Provide support to Production Planners and schedulers.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, quality, maintenance and other departments.
  • Generate and maintain weekly production reports.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and scheduling policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

IEM is currently seeking a Production Controller for our Fremont, CA team, and will report into the Senior Director of Operations. The Production Controller is primarily responsible for assisting the Production Department with all potential production constraints. You will be coordinating production activities to ensure optimal utilization and timely delivery of products. This role will mitigate current and future risks of anything that could negatively impact on time completion of finished goods.

Please note: This position requires 100% in-office presence in our Fremont location and does not offer remote work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and communicate potential schedule changes as needed to accommodate production delays, disruptions, expedites, material shortages, customer cancellations, or recovery plans.
  • Track and report production status as needed
  • Identify potential bottlenecks and help to implement solutions to meet delivery deadlines when needed.
  • Provide support to the Production Planners and schedulers.
  • Orchestrate communication with engineering, procurement, quality, maintenance and any other department needs that will hinder production.
  • Generate and maintain weekly production reports if required by the Manufacturing Supervisor or Planning Manager.
  • Document history as needed.
  • Adhere to established safety guidelines.
  • Adheres to scheduling policies, processes and procedures.
  • The candidate will be expected to perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus!
  • Prefer 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Compensation

Compensation actually offered for this role will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

Compensation: USD $28.00 - $37.50/hr
