Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a Production Control Specialist to monitor online and batch portions of our distributed and mainframe production workflows that support customer service and claims processing.

Responsibilities include monitoring workflows for production errors, repairing issues or escalating them, assisting with deployment of application software, and supporting Production Analysts while undergoing comprehensive training in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of production control experience.
• Experience with JCL, CPU, and DB2.
• Experience with BMC Control-M is preferred.
• Experience with COBOL 6 is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree is not required but preferred.

• Monitor processing of mainframe and distributed batch jobs ensuring the successful completion of all jobs.
• Maintain databases that support job scheduling, report distribution, and system automation.
• Analyze, complete and sometimes delegate special projects with little supervision.
• Accomplish all assigned job functions in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness while maintaining confidentiality.

Job description

We are seeking a Production Control Specialist to monitor both online and batch portions of our distributed and mainframe production workflows that support customer service and claims processing. Key responsibilities include monitoring workflows for production errors, repairing the problems, or escalating the problem to other personnel. Other main duties include assisting with the deployment of application software or changes to the production environment, special project work, managing data transmissions to and from the production mainframe, managing bug report viewing and distribution software and assisting the Production Analysts and Senior Production Analysts as needed. Due to the nature of the production environment, comprehensive, guided training is provided and a perk of joining this collaborative team.
