Job summary

Precision Castparts in Groton, CT is seeking a Production Control Supervisor to develop, maintain, and execute production schedules that align with customer requirements and company objectives. Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in production control, manufacturing planning, scheduling, materials management, or related manufacturing operations.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred, including directing daily activities, coaching employees, and managing departmental performance.
• Experience with production scheduling, work order management, inventory control, and material requirements planning.
• Experience with purchasing processes, shipping/receiving operations, and inventory management practices.
• Experience using ERP or MRP systems to manage production orders, material requirements, and inventory transactions.
• Experience in aerospace, precision manufacturing, or other highly regulated environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages production schedules to meet demand and delivery timelines.
• Collaborates with Operations leadership to ensure schedules are realistic and executable.
• Audits daily production plans and addresses scheduling conflicts.
• Monitors progress and adjusts plans to ensure on-time completion of orders.
• Oversees materials planning and purchasing to ensure material availability.
• Directs Materials Planners and Buyers to balance material requirements and inventory.
• Negotiates with suppliers for pricing and timely delivery.
• Monitors supplier performance and resolves shortages or delays.
• Improves material flow and reduces costs without compromising quality or schedule.
