Job summary

Textron is offering a 10-week summer internship in Wichita focused on materials planning and inventory optimization. You’ll gain hands-on experience by supporting MRP processes, production scheduling, and supplier coordination under experienced mentors.

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, management or a related field, you’ll develop analytical and communication skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze material requirements and approve demand/supply for raw, purchased, and manufactured materials.
• Determine MRP policies and inputs for material ordering and control.
• Release replenishments and drive requirements through the MRP system.
• Use BOMs, master schedules, and forecasts to ensure on-time material supply.
• Review engineering changes and planning data for production orders as required.
• Analyze shortages and coordinate corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
• Participate in area team walks and continuous improvement activities.
