Job summary

Atkore International in Cartersville, GA is seeking a Production Control Manager to oversee inventory, purchasing, and production scheduling. You will ensure MRP integrity, drive supplier performance, and lead cost-reduction initiatives across materials and processes.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in inventory and production manufacturing, with lean and ERP experience. This role emphasizes coordination with procurement and production teams to meet schedules and optimize inventory turns.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience with inventory, distribution, buyer/purchasing and production manufacturing.
• Lean manufacturing or business system-based company experience is a plus.
• Procurement/Supply Chain negotiating experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain MRP system integrity and processing of purchase orders and production orders as suggested by MRP.
• Maintain updated records of inventory including transfers, cycle counts, and audits.
• Coordinate purchasing to obtain parts for upcoming production.
• Identify and develop improvements to procedures to maximize efficiency and cut costs.
• Oversee RFQs, sourcing recommendations, and purchase orders; expedite POs as needed.
• Reconcile invoices and update master data.
• Ensure order processing accuracy (DoA, GL, data entry).
• Support strategic sourcing decisions to meet corporate goals.
• Outline MRO purchasing activities for team execution.
• Develop and monitor standard costs for raw materials.
• Streamline processes and supplier managed inventories.
• Manage procurement databases and ad hoc projects.
