Job summary

Fort George Brewery in Astoria, OR is seeking Production Brewer I or II to monitor fermentation, harvest yeast, perform dry-hopping, and transfer beer between vessels. The role involves maintaining sanitation, keeping records, and supporting brewhouse production with precise processes.

Production II includes leadership duties, such as brewing to specifications, recording data, and collaborating on recipe development, all while maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Previous work experience in a brewery cellar and brewhouse for Production II position.
• Ability to multitask and work without supervision once trained.
• Must possess or be teachable in basic math and mechanical competency, and forklift operator's certification.
• Ability to read SDS labels on chemicals and follow safety precautions.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a high-noise environment.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record daily pH and gravities.
• Tank cleaning with caustic and acid; sanitation with peracetic acid.
• Harvest yeast into storage tanks and kegs.
• Dry hopping from a scissor lift into tank tops.
• Transfer beer using centrifugal pumps and centrifuge.
• Monitor Dissolved Oxygen with Anton Paar Cbox; carbonate beer to spec.
• Input tasks and ingredients into Ekos or inventory software.
• Maintain inventory counts with Inventory and procurement teams.
