Job summary

Kane Brewing seeks a quality-focused craft brewer to join our production team, bringing attention to detail and a passion for craft beer. The role covers hot side production, record-keeping, and barrel aging programs while working in a fast-paced brewery environment.

Responsibilities

  • Produce wort from milling to knock-out in spec.
  • Maintain brew house records accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of brew house and milling areas.
  • Harvest, pitch, and manage yeast health.
  • Participate in sensory panels and pilot brewing programs.
  • Monitor fermentation data (gravity, CO2, temperature).
  • Perform CIP and SIP on brewery vessels.
  • Transfer wort and beer per SOP; test DO and carbonation.
  • Contribute to barrel aging program and rack barrels.
  • Adhere to sanitary and record-keeping standards.
  • Work a Sunday shift rotation as needed.
  • Support general production tasks and safe operations.

Job Overview

We are looking for a quality focused, passionate craft brewer to add to our production team. Our production team members bring a high level of attention to detail, enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment, and love craft beer.

Ideal candidates will have experience working shifts in a high‑volume production brewery, but we are open to candidates with little to no experience in this setting that are highly motivated, hard working, willing to learn and have a passion for craft beer.

Role Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Hot Side
  • Production of wort, from milling to knock‑out, that falls into the required specifications.
  • Maintaining proper and accurate brew house records.
  • Maintaining brew house and milling cleanliness and organization.
  • Yeast harvest, pitching and health management.
  • Participation in regular sensory and tasting panels as necessary.
  • Contribute to pilot brewing program.
  • Perform daily monitoring and data collection of fermentation and conditioning tanks, including gravity, CO2 levels, and temperature.
  • Clean‑In‑Place (CIP) and Sanitize in Place (SIP) of all brewery vessels.
  • Wort and beer transfer in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Operate Gehaltemeter for testing DO and carbonation levels.
  • Conduct all tasks related to the barrel aging program, including filling, monitoring, and racking barrels.
  • Strict adherence to sanitary and record‑keeping standards.
General Production
  • Strict adherence to production and safety SOPs.
  • Basic facilities maintenance.
  • Manual cleaning of brewery equipment and parts.
  • Assist in clean and sour barrel‑aging program as needed.
  • Adherence to good manufacturing practices.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
  • Ability to work a Sunday shift rotation twice a year.

Requirements
  • Lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts of five consecutive days, that include early mornings, nights and limited Sundays.
  • Stand for 8‑10 hours per day.
  • Operate a forklift and complex machinery.
  • Work in a non-temperature controlled environment.
  • Handling of hazardous materials.
