Job summary

Goodyear Commercial Tire & Service Centers is hiring for an entry-level role in our tire retread plants across the U.S. You'll participate in recap, remolding and retread processes to extend tire life and ensure a safe, high-quality product.

No prior experience required; we provide training. Basic computer skills are expected, and you must be at least 18 and authorized to work in the U.S. Benefits include medical, prescription, dental, vision, 401(k) with 2% match, life insurance and more.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tires to determine retread suitability.
• Buff the casing to remove worn tread.
• Remove embedded objects, rust and repair the tire casing.
• Repair casing with rubber cement or patch before applying new tread.
• Assemble tire by applying new tread and cure retread application.
• Perform final inspection to ensure a safe, high-quality product.

About the Role:

As a member of our retread team, you will play a role in recapping, remolding, or in other words, extending the life of an existing tire to get it back on the road! In our retread plants you will have the opportunity to support the retread process through various stages:

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread
• Buff the casing to remove any worn tread
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing
• Using rubber cement or a patch, repair the casing before applying new tread
• Building the tire by applying new tread
• Curing the tire to mold the retread application
• Final Inspection to assess a safe and quality product
