Major Duties and Responsibilities

You will focus on one of the following areas, with plans for cross-training in the future to enable work in any area:

Coating Area

• Clipper: Clipping and securing lenses into baskets to start the coating process.
• Machine Operator: Preparing and operating coating machines, including loading chemicals and lenses.
• Inspector: Ensuring lenses are optically and cosmetically accurate.

Finishing Area

• Beveler: Removing sharp edges from lenses.
• Mounter: Inserting edged lenses into frames, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
• Edger Operator: Cutting lenses to size and shape to fit frames.
• Finish Layout Preparer: Preparing lenses for edging by outlining markings and affixing the chuck.
• Tinter: Tinting lenses accurately.
• Inspector: Checking lenses and frames for quality standards.

Surfacing Area

• Surfacing Blocker: Securing lenses with a blocking machine and applying protective tape.
• Surface Finer/Polisher: Finishing and polishing lenses.
• Lens Washer: Hand washing, drying, and inspecting lenses, removing blocks and tape.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• High mechanical aptitude.
• At least 1 year of related manufacturing experience; lab experience preferred.
• Ability to meet standards in a dynamic environment, with good depth perception and manual dexterity.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk throughout shifts.
• Willingness to work with chemicals and in wet/dusty environments.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.

Pay Range: $16.74 - $23.64. Compensation depends on various factors including location, experience, and qualifications. Benefits may include health care, retirement plans, paid time off, and employee discounts.
