Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Houston, TX is hiring for a production support role on the manufacturing floor. Base pay is $17.50 per hour and shifts run 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with overtime possible depending on operations.

You will assist CPU customers, load and scan documents, operate forklifts, and help with packaging and inventory. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year in manufacturing; good communication and basic computer skills are needed.

Base pay rate is $17.50 per hour

Schedule Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, hours may vary depending on operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understands and follows safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Assist CPU customers
• Takes loading photos
• Uploads loading photos
• Scans loading documentation
• Assist with location job order on the production floor
• Employs a range of crating and packaging resources, including metal bands and protective coverings, to ensure parts are securely fastened and safeguarded during transport.
• Proficient in operating forklifts and other lifting equipment.
• Responsible for each lift, deciding when to check actual vs maximum allowable trailer load.
• Assists with inventory counts as required
• Maintains practices for continuous improvement within the work area.
• Utilize scanning equipment
• Inspect work visually for defects according to Quality Systems
• Provide cost-saving suggestions and ideas to improve productivity and eliminate waste
• Willing/able to work overtime
• Ability read, write, and follow posted schedules
• May be assigned other projects or tasks by the team leader.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• A minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment
• Good Communication Skills
• Basic Computer Skills
• Forklift experience a plus / Must be trainable on forklift
• Crane experience a plus / Must be trainable on crane
• Flexible with working overtime and weekends when needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment.

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
