Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Houston is hiring for a production support role on the manufacturing floor. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds, operating forklifts, and following safety rules while assisting with customer orders and packaging.

Base pay is $17.50 per hour with overtime potential. This full-time role offers benefits from day one, including medical, dental and vision, PTO, holidays, 401(k) and more.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year related manufacturing experience.
• Good communication and basic computer skills are expected.
• Forklift and crane experience are a plus and training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules in a manufacturing environment.
• Assist CPU customers and location job orders on the production floor.
• Upload loading photos and help with packaging and crating of parts.
• Operate forklifts and other lifting equipment as needed.
• Assist with inventory counts and aim for continuous improvement.

Job Description

Base pay rate is $17.50 per hour

Schedule Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, hours may vary depending on operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understands and follows safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Assist CPU customers
• Uploads loading photos
• Assist with location job order on the production floor
• Employs a range of crating and packaging resources, including metal bands and protective coverings, to ensure parts are securely fastened and safeguarded during transport.
• Proficient in operating forklifts and other lifting equipment.
• Responsible for each lift, deciding when to check actual vs maximum allowable trailer load.
• Assists with inventory counts as required
• Maintains practices for continuous improvement within the work area.
• Inspect work visually for defects according to Quality Systems
• Provide cost-saving suggestions and ideas to improve productivity and eliminate waste
• Willing/able to work overtime
• Ability read, write, and follow posted schedules
• May be assigned other projects or tasks by the team leader.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• A minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment
• Good Communication Skills
• Basic Computer Skills
• Forklift experience a plus / Must be trainable on forklift
• Crane experience a plus / Must be trainable on crane
• Flexible with working overtime and weekends when needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment.

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
