Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring an assembly worker in Atwater, CA. Base pay starts at $18.50 per hour with a 6:00 am to 2:30 pm shift. You will perform assembly tasks, inspect quality, label and package products, and help with shipping while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic Microsoft skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Prior experience with forklifts or cranes is a plus; overtime may be required.

Job Description

JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $18.50 per hour

Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm(hours may vary depending on operations)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out tasks as directed by the department supervisor or team lead.
• Engage in the assembly process, utilizing techniques such as sewing, cutting, clipping, and hooking to transform raw materials into sub-assemblies or final product.
• Affix labels and tags to products and their packaging appropriately.
• Inspect work visually for defects according to quality standards
• Prepare finished goods for shipping by packing them effectively.
• Monitor production progress on schedule boards.
• Report any equipment or material discrepancies to the supervisor promptly.
• Uphold cleanliness and safety in the workplace.
• Assist with hemming and the relocation of finished materials to trucks, utilizing overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Serve as a positive role model consistent with Cornerstone Building Brands Mission, Vision and Core Values
• Provide cost saving suggestions and ideas to improve production and eliminate waste
• Must be willing/able to work overtime
• Must be able to read a tape measure, write, and follow posted schedules
• Willing to learn and take on additional tasks as assigned
• Team player and keeping safety first

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a related area is preferred
• Must have basic Microsoft knowledge
• Experience with side forklift, bander, nail gun, overhead crane, saws, stretch wrap machine, and various pneumatic equipment preferred, not required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
