Cornerstone Building Brands in New Jersey is seeking a Production Associate 1 to operate IG unit filling and sealing processes in a fast-paced, physical manufacturing environment.

The role supports armfuls of responsibilities from gas filling with argon to sealing and defect communication, with a 1st shift schedule (6:45 am - 3:15 pm) and base pay of $17.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for the duration of the shift.
• Must have fine motor skills and precise placement during stacking.
• Ability to work in tandem with another operator across multiple stations.
• Ability to locate minor quality defects in glass, grids and spacers.
• Must cross-train and rotate on various workstations within the line/complex.
• Ability to comprehend written work instructions, standard work and quality documents.

Production Associate 1

JOB DETAILS

Base Pay: $17.25 per hour

1st Shift: 6:45 am - 3:15 pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Argon/Patching Operator is responsible for the filling and sealing of Insulated Glass (IG) units in the cooling area of the Glass Department. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands.

• Consistently hold cycle time of the position
• Fill IG units with argon gas using the gas filling machine
• Fill the gas installation hole with a screw using a powered screwdriver
• Seal the open corner of the IG unit with butyl
• Movement of carts in and out of production work area
• Communicate quality issues observed either upstream or downstream of their position
• Communicate mechanical issues with the machines to leadership or maintenance staff

Qualifications

• Must have fine motor skills. Stacking requires precision placement of spacer on the glass units and alignment of 2nd glass lite onto the spacer
• Ability to work in tandem with another operator
• Ability to locate minor quality defects in glass, grids and spacers
• Must cross-train and rotate on various workstations within line/complex.
• Ability to comprehend written work instructions, standard work and quality documents
• Ability to move carts of glass in and out of production areas
• 1 - 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
