Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring a Production Associate 1 for the Cooling Room on the 1st shift. The role involves filling and sealing insulated glass units in a fast-paced manufacturing setting in North Brunswick, NJ.

The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and coordinating with a partner operator. Training and growth opportunities are available in a large, ESG-focused company.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for the duration of the shift.
• Must have fine motor skills and precise placement for glass components.
• Ability to work in tandem with another operator.
• Ability to identify minor quality defects in glass, grids and spacers.
• Must cross-train and rotate on various workstations within the line/complex.

Responsibilities

• Fill the gas installation hole with a screw using a powered screwdriver.
• Seal the open corner of the IG unit with butyl.
• Move carts in and out of production areas.
• Report quality or machine issues to leadership or maintenance staff.

Production Associate 1

JOB DETAILS

Base Pay: $17.25 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Argon/Patching Operator is responsible for the filling and sealing of Insulated Glass (IG) units in the cooling area of the Glass Department. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands.

• Consistently hold cycle time of the position
• Fill IG units with argon gas using the gas filling machine
• Fill the gas installation hole with a screw using a powered screwdriver
• Seal the open corner of the IG unit with butyl
• Movement of carts in and out of production work area
• Communicate quality issues observed either upstream or downstream of their position
• Communicate mechanical issues with the machines to leadership or maintenance staff

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for duration of entire shift.
• Must have fine motor skills. Stacking requires precision placement of spacer on the glass units and alignment of 2nd glass lite onto the spacer
• Ability to work in tandem with another operator
• Ability to locate minor quality defects in glass, grids and spacers
• Must cross-train and rotate on various workstations within line/complex.
• Ability to comprehend written work instructions, standard work and quality documents
• Ability to move carts of glass in and out of production areas
• 1 - 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
