Job summary

Micron Technology in Boise, ID seeks a PYE Lab Technician to support yield improvement by operating lab/test equipment, executing semiconductor test processes, and assisting engineering/manufacturing teams. Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work compressed 12‑hour shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Experience in technical, manufacturing, laboratory, semiconductor, or related environment.
• Ability to interpret procedures, troubleshoot, and follow detailed instructions.
• Experience using computers, software, and technical systems to collect and communicate data.
• Basic knowledge of Linux, command-line environments, or scripting tools.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand long periods and wear PPE.
• Safety, quality and security compliance.

Responsibilities

• Investigate product lots and components to support PYE FAILMECH requests.
• Analyze requests and execute process flow based on product type and failure mode.
• Utilize Linux-based tools to perform research, diagnostics, and data collection.
• Leverage engineering apps and databases for product analysis.
• Generate Fuse Sort instructions using Linux utilities and scripts.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment including SBT, Pretest, AX5/AX6 ovens.
• Verify results with FMAP and other analysis tools.
• Coordinate tester scheduling to maximize equipment utilization in the lab.
• Access approved lab systems to retrieve requests, scripts, and docs.
• Collaborate with PYE, Characterization, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Tech Support.
• Collect, analyze, and document data to identify trends and issues.
• Escalate equipment, process, safety and quality concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of disposition, equipment status, and execution.
• Follow site safety, environmental, quality, and security requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement to boost efficiency and quality.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships.
