Role Type Individual Contributor

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced banking product professional to lead the product direction and delivery for our digital banking offering. You'll work with leadership to prioritize product implementation, keep project plans on track, and support roadmap development. You'll work with engineering, design, compliance, and operations to ship banking products that delight customers and support sustainable growth.

This is a hands‑on leadership role without direct reports at the outset. You'll lead through ownership, influence, and expertise: setting direction for the product team, aligning partners across the business, and removing blockers. As the team grows, there is an opportunity to take on people management. If you're energized by solving real financial problems for real people, this role was made for you.

What You’ll Do
Product Leadership & Delivery
  • Own the backlog, priorities, and delivery timeline for retail products.
  • Research vendors and/or work with engineers to determine if we buy or build to support new products, features and services.
  • Lead cross‑functional working sessions and drive alignment across engineering, design, compliance, and operations.
  • Track project plans, surface risks early, and escalate when needed.
  • Define OKRs and KPIs and report on progress against them.
  • Share best practices and informally mentor teammates on product craft and process.
Roadmap & Prioritization
  • Support leadership in defining the product roadmap.
  • Help prioritize features and enhancements based on customer needs, business goals, regulatory requirements, and technical feasibility.
  • Coordinate with engineering, design, operations, and marketing to ensure timely, high‑quality releases.
Customer Experience
  • Represent the voice of the customer in planning and product decisions.
  • Partner with UX/Design on intuitive, accessible web and mobile experiences.
  • Use usability testing, customer feedback, and product analytics to identify friction points and prioritize improvements.
Market & Pricing Input
  • Stay current on the competitive landscape, including neobanks, traditional banks, and fintechs.
  • Contribute competitive insights and pricing and fee inputs to leadership for product decisions.
  • Support analysis of how product changes affect engagement, conversion, and revenue.
Vendor & Partner Support
  • Serve as the day‑to‑day product contact for fintech partners, processors, and vendors tied to new product implementation.
  • Support vendor assessments, including RFP/RFI input and ongoing performance tracking.
Compliance Awareness
  • Partner with Legal, Risk, and Compliance to ensure your products meet applicable regulations (CFPB, FDIC, BSA/AML, Reg E, Reg Z, etc.).
  • Build compliance and information security requirements into planning from the start.
What We’re Looking For
Required
  • 4+ years of product management experience in banking, financial services, or fintech, including experience leading projects, workstreams, or cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of banking products such as deposit accounts, payments, debit/credit cards, lending, and digital banking platforms.
  • Experience delivering products in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to partner with and influence engineering, design, compliance, risk, operations, and marketing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting updates to leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the initiative to drive results.
Preferred
  • Experience at a neobank, digital bank, or innovative fintech.
  • Familiarity with core and fintech platforms (e.g., Galileo, FIS, Fiserv, Jack Henry, Plaid, Stripe).
  • Consumer‑facing digital product experience with measurable impact on engagement or conversion.
  • Working knowledge of retail banking regulations (CFPB, OFAC, Reg E, Reg Z, BSA/AML, SOC2).
  • Product analytics skills (A/B testing, KPI dashboards, SQL/BI tools).
  • Interest in growing into a people management role as the team scales.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree and product certifications (Pragmatic Institute, AIPMM, CSPO) are a plus.
Work Environment

This is an on‑site position at our company headquarters, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional evening or weekend work may be needed around key launches, regulatory deadlines, or partner milestones. Some travel may be required for conferences and partner meetings.

Why Join Us
  • Real ownership, with visible impact on the products customers use every day.
  • A clear path to people leadership as the team grows.
  • A collaborative, high‑performance team that values bold thinking and bias for action.
  • A fast‑moving environment where your ideas get heard and your work ships.
  • A front‑row seat to the future of digital banking and fintech.
