Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a highly talented Product Owner (Product Specialist) to join our team in advancing technology through innovation. The role requires 5–6+ years in business/product analysis within retail/eCommerce, strong storytelling and grooming of user stories, and a deep understanding of the retail search domain.

The successful candidate will own the Search POD product backlog and drive delivery in a Scrum environment.

Qualifications

• 5–6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role within the retail or eCommerce industry.
• Knowledge about retail search engine.
• Experience in writing, prioritizing and grooming User stories; familiarity with Gherkin format.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Hybrid).

The candidate must have knowledge about retail search engine. Knowledge of Agile practices and strong story writing is must. Experience in writing, prioritizing and grooming User stories is must. Strong understanding of business processes, systems analysis, and requirements gathering. Experience working with JIRA, confluence is must or similar.Key Responsibilities

The Product Owner is a key member of the Agile Scrum team, responsible for executing and delivering the Search POD product roadmap and its associated initiatives. Working closely with the Product Manager, the Product Owner translates the strategic product vision into actionable priorities, providing day-to-day direction for product development to ensure successful execution.

The Product Owner owns the Product Backlog, ensuring it is well-defined, prioritized, and continuously refined to maximize business value. They collaborate with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to maintain a clear, development-ready backlog that aligns with evolving customer and business needs.

With a strong understanding of the search domain, customer needs, and business objectives, the Product Owner builds trusted relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the team's work supports the broader product strategy. They proactively manage cross-functional dependencies by fostering partnerships across teams, facilitating alignment, and serving as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the delivery team to ensure transparent communication, shared priorities, and successful product outcomes.

• Experience of writing story in Gherkin format is must.
• Experience on Analytics will be an additional advantage.
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure requirements are accurately captured and implemented.
• Excellent end to end understanding of SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Hybrid, Incremental Application Development.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and pain points.
• Conduct detailed requirements analysis, documenting functional and non-functional specifications.
• Help train end-users and provide ongoing support during and after project deployment.
• Should be comfortable working in 8 am – 5 pm central time slot
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on business process optimization.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.
• A proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Pay Range Minimum: 87000

Pay Range Maximum: 172000
