Job summary

International Dairy Queen, Inc. (IDQ) seeks a Product Lead for FSQR to drive food safety and quality programs, ensuring vendor conformance and product consistency across DQ offerings. You will develop specifications, review QC data, and lead corrective actions while partnering with Product Development.

You will build strong relationships with vendors and franchisees, oversee safety procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment at our Bloomington HQ.

Qualifications

• B.S. in food science, animal science or closely related field.
• 5 years of experience in quality management and food safety.
• Experience with beef, seafood, chicken and/or pork products preferred.
• Regulatory experience preferred.
• Ability to lead teams and manage progress in ambiguous situations.
• Capable of delivering constructive feedback to vendors or internal personnel.
• Strong project management with planning and resource utilization.
• Able to prioritize multiple complex projects in fast-paced environments.
• Influence across functions and articulate technical information to diverse audiences.
• Strong relationship-building with internal and external clients.
• Creative thinker who can develop strategy to improve quality and mitigate risk.
• Deep knowledge of food manufacturing, packaging, purchasing, distribution and logistics.
• Knowledge of current industry issues in food safety, nutrition, public health, environment and animal rights.
• Thorough knowledge of safety, microbiology, HACCP/HARPC, FDA, USDA, GMP and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversees food safety, quality and regulatory aspects of DQ products, including vendor qualification and on-boarding.
• Establishes appropriate quality and food safety specifications with product development and vendors.
• Reviews specification documents and monitors QC data from vendors.
• Creates and maintains HACCP flow charts and restaurant food safety procedures.
• Manages vendor quality issues and leads corrective actions to closure.
• Identifies trends and develops actions to mitigate supplier quality issues.
• Serves as subject matter expert and educates others across functions.
• Partners with Product Development during development and testing phases.
• Builds internal and external relationships to support strategic direction.
