Job summary

International Dairy Queen, Inc. (IDQ), based in Minneapolis, MN, operates a global restaurant network and focuses on product development and quality assurance in its onsite lab. The candidate will evaluate new products, document results, assist with specifications, and monitor market trends while upholding GMP/HACCP and FSQR standards. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Food Science or chemistry is required.
• 1–3 years of professional product development or QA experience.
• Knowledge of sensory methodologies and ability to conduct sensory testing.
• Able to interpret data and summarize findings for decision making.
• Familiar with GMP and HACCP principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheets and OneNote.
• Willing to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new or alternative products, packaging or equipment and document results.
• Report and review project results to supervisor and internal teams.
• Assist in developing specifications for new menu items and update finished product specs.
• Monitor consumer trends and competitive menus.
• Provide technical support and train internal departments on new products.
• Prepare items for internal review and committee evaluations.
• Support in-house sensory panels and consumer research activities.
• Ensure compliance with FSQR, quality and food safety requirements.
