Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting or supporting human-subject research; Master's requires 2+ years, Bachelor's requires 4+ years.
  • Experience interacting directly with study participants and collecting human research data.
  • Comfort setting up cognitive and sensory neuroscientific equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow established protocols accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure data are labeled, stored, organized, and transferred according to procedures.
  • Maintain accurate study records and protect confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Perform light data cleaning, processing, or quality-control checks under guidance.

Product Research AssistantLocation: Beaverton, Oregon (Onsite Mon-Thurs and remote on most Fridays) Duration: 1 year contract

Role Overview

We are seeking a Research Assistant to support the Mind Sciences team in executing human research studies that advance the understanding of perception, cognition, neurophysiology, and the athlete experience. Working closely with senior researchers, this individual will play a critical role in day-to-day study execution, ensuring a high-quality participant experience, reliable data collection, and scientific rigor. As a member of the team, you will help bring research studies to life and contribute directly to research that informs athlete insights and product innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute human-subject research studies designed by senior researchers.
  • Prepare research spaces and study materials before participant arrival.
  • Follow established protocols precisely and consistently.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience or a closely related field is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience conducting or supporting human-subject research is required. Candidates with a Master's degree require 2+ years of relevant experience, while candidates with a Bachelor's degree require a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience interacting directly with study participants and collecting human research data. Comfort setting up and operating cognitive and sensory neuroscientific equipment. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow established protocols accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Neuroscience or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with EEG, fNIRS, or related neurophysiological technologies.
  • Experience in a neuroscience, human performance, biomechanics, or applied research laboratory.
  • Experience with basic data processing and analysis tools such as MATLAB, Python, R, or Excel.
  • Experience working directly with athletes.
  • Experience in sensory perception research.
Work Environment

This is an onsite role based in Beaverton, Oregon. A hybrid schedule may be available, generally involving onsite work from Monday to Thursday. Some work on Fridays may be required based on business needs. The role involves working with a direct team of approximately two other researchers and a broader perception science team of about five others.
