Job summary

Van Marcke Trade Supply seeks an entry-level Product/Purchasing Assistant for its Phoenix operations. You will support the Logistical Operations Department, work on product and purchasing projects, and contribute to vendor management and new product development.

You will collaborate with the Product Manager and Lead Buyer, handle cost comparisons, and help manage purchase orders while maintaining high service levels across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience with plumbing wholesale operations is a plus.
• Purchasing experience helpful but not required.
• Proficient in Excel, Outlook and SAP.
• Strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and analyzing product category sales to optimize product assortment.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing and new vendors.
• Prepare and maintain all product parameters.
• Receive and analyze internal product requests.
• Research new innovative products and concepts.
• Collaborate with Lead Buyer and Product Manager on new products.
• Assist in following up on Purchase Orders.
• Communicate with Purchasing, Product and Operations teams; interact with Warehouse and Branch staff.
• Create, set up and maintain vendor files; request samples as needed.
• Manage price files and cost comparisons.
