Job summary

Dialpad is seeking a Corporate Counsel, Product & Privacy to serve as a trusted legal advisor on how our AI-powered products intersect with privacy, security, and regulatory obligations. You'll work with Product, Engineering, Security, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to embed legal judgment into product design and scaling.

Based in San Francisco, CA (preferred), you will help build frameworks, guardrails, and playbooks while handling data incidents, DPIAs, cross-border transfers, and

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school and license to practice in at least one US state.
• 5–8 years of substantive privacy, product-counseling, and regulatory experience.
• Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and HIPAA, including privacy-by-design and cross-border transfers.
• Familiarity with AI frameworks (EU AI Act, US state AI legislation, FTC priorities).
• Experience translating complex legal requirements for Product and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Advise on privacy-by-design and AI governance across the product lifecycle.
• Support global privacy program administration, DPIAs, and cross-border transfers; respond to data incidents.
• Coordinate with Telecommunications & Regulatory Counsel on call-recording and related issues.
• Support certifications and design privacy-enhancing controls (redaction, anonymization, access governance).
• Assist with DPA/BAA negotiations and privacy terms in commercial deals.
